Setting Your Table for An Easter Brunch

Easter may be on April Fool's Day this year, but don't let your Easter table fool you!  Here are some tips (and sources you can purchase to create a similar look) to make sure your table setting is a success this Easter.

THE CENTERPIECE

When designing a table setting, I almost always start with my centerpiece.  This year, I used a cute little pair of moss-covered grapevine rabbits that I picked up at Homegoods and filled a tall glass vase with forsythia from my yard.  I then laid greenery around the rabbits for a bit more whimsy and added a few pastel Easter eggs to complete the look.  I love going out and buying flowers, but other times, it's fun just using what you can find in your own backyard!

DINNERWARE

After my centerpiece is done, I begin setting the table.  This year I picked up a few melamine bunny plates by Lisa Audit at Tuesday Morning (after all, I do have two kids under four), but other than that, everything you see are pieces that I already owned.

Think about what pieces you already own that look spring-like that you can mix in with others.  I mixed the melamine plates with my coffee mugs and dinner plates from my Good Earth Pottery collection (color bluebird and made in Mississippi!), and I used my round woven water hyacinth place mats that go perfectly with the theme as they look like woven baskets.   One day, I might have to buy the Spode Woodland Rabbit salad plates you see below, but the melamine is really great if you have kids or grandkids!

For Good Earth Pottery, visit The Mississippi Gift Company or my hometown favorite, The Calico Mushroom in New Albany, to purchase these pieces.

GLASSWARE

As I mentioned, almost all of the pieces I used are items I already owned, and the glassware was no exception.  I filled my Artland Bubble Glass Goblets with orange juice (add a little champagne if you like for a Mimosa!) as we all know its perfect for a brunch, but the color also looked great with the forsythia branches.

Think about how you can repeat color in your table setting... maybe you fill your glasses with a pink punch if you're using pink flowers or maybe you use a pink napkin, bundle your flatware with a pink flower, or tie a small decorative colored egg with twine to use as a napkin ring.  The possibilities are endless!

FLATWARE

The flatware is not to be forgotten, and again, it can be something you already have!  I love my beaded flatware (Vintage Jewel by Lenox) and love that it's so classic and timeless.  It goes with just about anything!

LINENS

Last, but not least, don't forget your linen napkins! It's easy just to use a napkin ring and place them on top of your place setting, or if you have a decorative plate like I do and don't want to cover it up, try simply placing it to the side or you can fold it like I did, placing it behind your plates and letting it hang down.

I hope these tips and sources have helped ease the stress of creating the perfect Easter table setting!  Happy Easter and remember this Spring that it's Jesus who makes all things new!

And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” - Revelations 21:5
